Select coaching development programmes
There are many training programmes available. As a result, the leading coaching bodies have tried to help organisations and individuals select the most appropriate for them. Lise Lewis, EMCC Vice President is an author of the competency framework which underpins the European Quality Awards for coach mentoring training programmes and individual accreditation and suggests you consider the following criteria to help you decide:
- What level of competence will the programme provide?
- Is the programme for managers to adopt coaching skills or are you interested in developing an internal coaching service?
- Will delegates be assessed on their level of competence? - this ensures application of learning
- Is the programme accredited? for example - EMCC, ICF.
